Megapixel war for smartphone camera is almost over. Now smartphone manufacturers are focusing on the image quality of the camera. And speaking of the image quality, the new technology called “Corephotonics” can deliver the best image quality on any smartphone camera today. Unlike conventional camera, it uses dual lens camera. It allows to capture 2 images with wide angle and a 3x zoom at the same time and then combining it in 1 photo. The result is a clear sharp photo at 100% crop.

Most of the camera phone on the market today has poor image when zoomed or crop at 100%. This “Corephotonics” technology solves that problem giving you clear and crisp photo. Another advantage of this technology is that it give clearer photo on low light which is a big problem on today smartphone camera. Today Dual lens Camera is mainly used to shoot 3D, which can also be available on this technology.

Next Iphone camera

Current rumors and news suggest that the new iphone to be released will have the Dual lens Camera technology. This will be the major feature of this iphone as this will be the first iphone to feature such technology. This technology may not use the “corephotonics”. Apple apparently has spent the last three years secretly testing dual-lens cameras. However they are still encountering issues such as blurry image and finding manufacturer with capacity to comply with Apple’s huge quantity demand. Lots of mobile photographer out there are excited to get their hand with this technology but we may not see this on the upcoming Iphone 6s. As usual from apple, they always introduce model “S” as Slightly improved version so you may not see this new technology on the next Iphone 6s.

Apparently Apple wont be the first to introduce this dual lens camera technology on mobile phones as HTC already has one on the market. This technology is still new and still has some flaws to improve. We hope that Apple can bring us wow factor when they release their own dual lens camera phone.
