Funny signs that you are Filipino

Its funny when we hear foreigners speak our language. But it amaze us when we see them speak our language fluently. These guys love Filipinos, in fact they can speak filipino and “bisaya” a native dialect in Visayas region of the Philippines. These guys summarize some of the signs that you are Filipino in a funny way.

 

Signs that you are Filipino

1. Using your finger to measure water in cooking rice – although rice cooker has guide for measurements, it has been a tradition for us to measure the water by fingers.



2. Expert at staying cool –  Philippines is a tropical country, most of the time it is hot at daytime except when it rains.

3. Respect for elders – There’s nothing wrong or funny about this tradition. They just made it funny on how they acted.

4. Last Bite –  when we gather together eating some foods, there’s always one piece of food left. Filipinos are always shy to take the last piece.

5. Videoke – Filipinos love to sing and in every occasion there is always a videoke.

6. Excuse po – When there are some people along your way, you tend to bend down,putting your palm together like praying and say “Excuse po” .

7. PSST – Funny way to call someone even if you know his/her name.

8. Picture 2x – We always love to take pictures, its no surprise that we are also known as the selfie capital.

 

Other signs that you are Filipino that is not mentioned on the video:

9. Pointing to things or direction using your mouth instead of fingers – this is the biggest sign that you are Filipino when you use your mouth instead of your fingers to point something.

10. Replacing certain word with “ano” – I don’t know if its a tradition or just a nature for us to replace certain word with “ano” instead of saying the word directly.

Example: Instead of saying;

 ang sarap ng luto niya

you will say:

ang sarap ng ano niya

The funny thing about this is that some people interpret the word “ano” with green minded things.
