Dual lens camera on mobile phones are becoming popular nowadays. But putting 16 lenses on a single camera sounds crazy, right? A company called Light managed to build a camera with 16 lenses with 13Megapixels sensors on each lenses. This camera is able to produce a whooping 52 Megapixels image by fusing the image captured by the individual camera modules

Each scene captured by the Light L16 Camera is shot by up to 10 of 16 individual 28mm, 70mm, and 150mm camera modules firing simultaneously. The individual shots are computationally fused to create an incredibly high-resolution, low-noise photograph, up to 52 megapixels in size.

Benefits of having 16 Camera Modules

Aside from having higher resolution of 52MP, the biggest benefit is that you will be able to capture clearer and cleaner image at low light. This is where the mobile and compact camera struggle and where the DSLR stands out. This camera might be suitable for those who want to capture DSLR quality photo with the size and weight of a compact camera.

It is still on prototype stage as of the moment. This camera will go on sale at the end of 2017 but no pricing yet. It will have 256GB on-board memory and can be able to store up to 1000+ images. It also can capture 4k Video. We are excited to see how it will perform in real production unit.
