Microsoft offers Windows 10 free upgrade

Good news everybody! Microsoft offers windows 10(codenamed Threshold) free upgrade even if you have a pirated copy. Yes you heard it right! With windows 10, pirated copy owners will be able to update to windows 10. Windows 10 will be made available to customers running Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1 who upgrade in the first year after launch. This will be more than 1 time upgrade, once you have already upgraded, you will continue to receive updates at no cost. But unfortunately, owners of the unlicensed and pirated copy might not be able to receive updates.

The main aim of the free upgrade is to come up with one platform and that the idea of asking “what version are you on?” will cease to make sense. This will be a great news for windows developers. They can now target the broadest range of devices. The goal of windows 10 is to unify windows PC, windows phone, windows embedded, and xbox family around an internal common core.

They will also expect the number of piracy to gradually decrease by offering free upgrade.
