If you think about SD Card or SECURE DIGITAL CARD this is the card that is essential to humans’ daily lives especially for those who have smartphones and other gadgets. SD CARD is an ultra-small flash memory card, which is designed to provide a high capacity of memory in a small size, which is used in cameras, computers and smartphones.

SD Card comes in different storage capacities. Since it was introduced in 1999, it is available in 1 MB (Megabytes) up to 1 GB (Gigabyte). It is evident that this kind of storage becomes one of the necessities while dealing with gadgets.

In just less than 20years of development, SD card capacity doesn’t just doubled but it has increased at staggering 10,000 times. From 1MB and now 1TB and it doesn’t end there, expect it to double on years to come. This is because 4k video resolutions is becoming a standard for video cameras and will be a standard TV resolution on years to come. This will require more memory space. 8k video resolutions is also in on-going development and will also require higher memory space so expect the capacity of memory cards to increase on the following years to come.

Regarding SD Card, for those people who loves saving data and don’t want it to be erased and 64 GB is not enough for them ‘SanDisk’ and its parent company which is the ‘Western Digital’ give us a new SD Card that have a 1 TB (Terabyte). Using this SD Card you can put a lot of data such as ultra HD pictures, 4K videos, virtual reality, 360-degree videos and a lot more.

Unfortunately this card is just a prototype and not on the market yet and no price, but let us keep our hopes up regarding this innovation in technology. In the meantime while waiting for this technology to hit the market let us enjoy the SD Card that we have and put a lot of memories and data in there.
