DIY USB to DMX
DMX is common now these days for controlling stage lights. Because of the advance technology nowadays, we can buy a dmx controlled lights at cheap price.
I thought it will be better to use your laptop to control the lights so I research how to make a USB to DMX converter. The schematic below is the simplest circuit I could find on the internet. It doesn’t require a microcontroller and its only composed of few parts.
Prototype
I built this very simple circuit and confirmed that is indeed working. I did not encounter any problem and works like magic
Software
This circuit is compatible to freestyler software which is a free software and can be downloaded anytime. This software is not hard to use and very user friendly.
