The Cars of the Future
We all know that self driving cars will the the future of cars but nobody knows when it will exactly happen. We are in a transition from dumb cars to smart cars and something big is about to happen. Imagine the possibilities of letting your car drive on its way to your office while you are sleeping.
That is one of the possibilities of the future but not in the near future, it will take some time to make the technology available for consumers. The transition from dumb cars to smart car will not happen overnight. Just like the mobile phone transition from Nokia 5110 to Apple iphone. We have seen many more phones after the nokia 5110 before we had a smart phone like the iphone. Here’s how the transition will happen:

Touch screen console – you may have noticed that almost all of the new cars being released are equipped with touch screen except for the low end models. But there will come a time that even the low end models will have touch screen panels. Some of them have an android interface and a very intelligent speech recognition. Touchscreens will be a standard on most cars.

Cars with Camera – Since most of the cars today have touch screen, cameras will also be a standard accessory. Camera is a very essential device for self driving cars. It serves as an eye for the car. The newly announced suzuki swift and suzuki car makes use of 2 cameras on front for detecting collision hazards on the road. By 2018, side mirrors of cars will replaced with camera on some cars. We will expect to see this feature on high end cars first. Year by year we will see this side mirror being replaced with camera slowly. Self driving cars will have at least 6 cameras on board.

Hybrid Cars – Hybrid cars are becoming more popular these days and in the future, there will come a time that most cars will come in hybrid. The main reason for hybrid car is to use less fuel as possible because we may run out of fuel in the near future. Another reason is to minimize air pollution. Hybrid cars runs on both gas an electricity. The reason why manufacturers can’t just drop the gas engine is because of 2 big reasons 1-electric vehicles takes time to charge, and 2-electric vehicles can run faster than the gas engine. But things are beginning to change on the electric car industry when faraday announce their faster electric car ever.
- Electric Cars – Future cars will be running on electricity simply because it doesn’t emissions that harms the environment. Electricity can also be produce without waste like solar, wind and hydro electric.
