What I learned from Shopping at Lazada
It was November 2014 when I first purchase at Lazada. Since then I have become a huge fan of online shopping. It is very convenient and easy to use online shopping compared to going to a physical store. One click and wait your order to be delivered next to your door step.
But despite of its convenience, there are still some disadvantage that an online store cannot offer.
Expectations Vs Photo
As compared to Photos being shown in you favorite restaurants and fast food which is far from reality, online shopping is no different. The photos are nice and attractive but it can be very different in actual product. Thanks to Photoshop and skilled photographer! Just make sure you already know the product you are buying in order to avoid being a victim of this attractive photos online.
Test before buying
In a physical store, you can test the product before buying it. The salesman/lady can even answer all your questions right away. They can demo every features of the product and the best part is you can change the item right away if you find some defects on it. This can’t be done online where you can only test the unit when it arrived. The bad thing is when you found some defects or they have shipped a wrong item. You will need to go to an authorized courier (i.e. LBC) to send the item back and wait for a couple of days for a replacement or refund.
Physical experience
In a physical store you can experience and play with the product you want to buy.
Here are some guides that I learned when buying at Lazada:
1. Reviews
–In Lazada, there can be fake “guest reviews” and may have been created by the seller to make his product attractive. Always look for a review with ” verified purchase” tag.
2. Seller Ratings
– Always look for a good seller ratings
3. Warranty
– Be aware that some goods online don’t come with warranty. These items can be too risky to buy. If something goes wrong, you are all alone. It is like throwing money out of your window.
4. Brand
– Some products especially electronics gadgets have no brand. Why should you only buy branded products? It is because there is no assurance on the quality and branded product will always have a service center. When something wrong happened you can just visit its service center near you.
5. Watch out for fake products!
– There are always fake products in an online store. The best example for this is the Nokia 3310, you can find many fake or clone Nokia 3310 in Lazada.
6. Use it heavily on first 7 days
– Lazada has 7-day return policy, use your product heavily on first 7 days to make sure you have a good and quality product.
