Why Mirriam should be the Next Philippine President?

Defensor

Santiago graduated Magna Cum Laude from UP Visayas despite undergoing a “prolonged, deliberating illness.” From a stubborn case of amoebic dysentery, she slid into a serious bout of depression.

While she is regularly complimented for her reported excellent mind, Santiago almost flunked the 1969 bar exams. She received a 78% average grade, much to her dismay. Senator Juan Ponce Enrile used this to attack Santiago in one of his Senate speeches. She was classmates with Senate President Franklin Drilon, San Juan Representative Ronaldo Zamora, and Eli Pamatong.
Miriam was also a two-time recipient of the Vinzons Achievement Award for excellence in student leadership. Due to her remarkable achievements, Miriam was chosen to become one of the U.P. Ten Outstanding Coeds and was described by Manila Chronicle magazine as “super girl at the state university.”
She earned the degree, Doctor of Juridical Science, in the United States, Dr. Miriam Defensor Santiago’s legal brilliance and courageous in fighting corruption, well before that when she was young her mother already thought her to be “Disciplined”, and “Quickly demonstrated her insistence on fair play” when she was in kindergarten.

She has brought honor to the Philippines in Several ways.

Miriam was also known as the “Iron Lady of Asia” and popular among the youth for her memorable witticisms, Senator Miriam has made Philippine politics even more colorful.
Santiago, then a young judge during the Martial Law regime, decided in favor of UP and Ateneo students who were protesting the lavish lifestyle of former first lady Imelda Marcos. She was considered the first to rule against Martial Law.
Asked if she was scared, “Not at all, no. I said to myself, I’d just apply everything I learned in UP and in all the schools that I went to because that’s what I went to school for. Consequences didn’t bother me at all,” she said.
A tragic loss has occurred Miriam when her son Alexander Robert died, an incredible impact to the lady senator’s faith.

“I do not understand why God can be all love and still inflict this kind of pain on people. This God is an underachiever. He does not do whatever he is supposed to be doing, whatever his sex is. Whether he's an it or a she or a he or whatever. But I'm sure that if you were a god or if I were the God, I would be doing a better job.”

Yes, we can admire her fair play in everything that she do, and also for being somehow witty in speaking for she only brings the best in her especially the real she is. Will her intelligence lead her to be our 2016 newest President? Or will her straight forward speaking and somehow spiritually unreliable bring her down. Let us vote wisely not just by what our eyes and ears feeds us but let us also look into their personality, emotionally and spiritually.
